F.A.Q.
Great question! Unlike a standard WDT tool where you manually stir, the geared spinning mechanism rotates the needles evenly through your coffee bed with each press. This means more consistent breakup of clumps across the entire basket, leading to uniform water flow and noticeably better extraction. You will taste less bitterness and more clarity in every shot.
We offer three sizes to match most machines. The 51mm (approx. 2 in) fits compact machines like the Breville Bambino. The 54mm (approx. 2.1 in) works with Breville Barista series and similar mid-size portafilters. The 58mm (approx. 2.3 in) is the standard for most prosumer and commercial machines like the Gaggia Classic or Lelit Bianca. Check your portafilter diameter to be sure!
The V1 is our premium version with enhanced build quality and refined gear action, available in Black. The V2 is a fantastic standard option that delivers the same spinning distribution concept at a more accessible price, and comes in both Black and White. Both versions feature adjustable needle depth and the magnetic ring alignment system.
Absolutely! The adjustable needle length is specifically designed for this. Whether you are pulling a lighter 14-15g dose or a fuller 20g dose, you can set the needle depth so it reaches the bottom of your coffee bed without scraping the basket. This flexibility makes it a perfect companion for experimenting with different recipes and roast levels.
Keeping it clean is simple! After each use, just rinse the needles under warm water to remove any coffee fines. Wipe the body down with a dry cloth. The stainless steel needles resist corrosion, so daily rinsing will not cause any damage. Avoid submerging the entire tool for extended periods, and store it upright to keep the needles straight and ready for your next shot.
