F.A.Q.

Great question! The screen sits on top of your tamped coffee bed and acts as a secondary water distribution layer. When water exits your group head, the screen's 0.15mm micro-pores spread it evenly across the entire puck surface. This prevents channeling, where water finds the path of least resistance, and ensures every ground particle contributes to your shot. The practical result is a sweeter, more balanced espresso with better body and less bitterness.

We offer three sizes to cover the most popular portafilter baskets: 51mm (approx. 2 in) for machines like the Breville Bambino or Delonghi Dedica, 54mm (approx. 2.1 in) for the Breville Barista Express and similar 54mm group heads, and 58mm (approx. 2.3 in) for prosumer and commercial E61 machines. Simply measure the inside diameter of your basket and choose the matching size for a snug fit.

Absolutely. This screen is made from SUS304 stainless steel, which is the same food-grade alloy used in professional coffee equipment, brewing kettles, and kitchen tools. It is naturally corrosion-resistant, will not leach flavors into your espresso, and handles daily use without warping. With basic care, it will last for years of daily pulling without any degradation in performance.

In most setups, not at all. At just 0.8mm thick (approx. 0.03 in), this is one of the thinnest puck screens available. It adds minimal height above your tamped bed, so you typically will not need to reduce your dose or adjust your grind. If your basket is already filled to the very top, simply shave off about 0.5g of coffee to keep comfortable headroom. Most users report zero workflow changes.

After each shot, simply rinse the screen under running water and give it a light rub with your fingers to remove coffee oils and fines. For a deeper clean, soak it in a solution of Cafiza or similar espresso cleaner for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also run it through a steam wand blast. Avoid abrasive pads that could damage the micro-pores. With this routine, your screen stays performing like new.
