F.A.Q.
A bottomless portafilter removes the spout so you can watch the entire extraction in real time. This makes it incredibly easy to spot channeling, uneven tamps, or grind size issues that would otherwise stay hidden. On top of that, eliminating the spout reduces turbulence, which helps produce thicker crema and noticeably cleaner flavor in every shot you pull.
We offer three sizes to cover the most popular machines. Choose 51mm (approx. 2 in) for De'Longhi ECP, Dedica, and La Specialista models. Choose 54mm (approx. 2.1 in) for Breville or Sage Barista Express, Bambino, and Infuser machines. Choose 58mm (approx. 2.3 in) for E61 group heads, La Marzocco, Gaggia, Rocket, ECM, Profitec, Lelit, Flair 58, and many more. Each variant lists compatible machines to make selection easy.
Absolutely. The handle is made from hand-selected natural hardwood that is both heat-resistant and built for repeated daily use. Unlike plastic handles that can crack or overheat during back-to-back shots, wood stays cool and comfortable in your grip. Each handle also features a unique grain pattern, so your portafilter has a one-of-a-kind look that only gets better with age.
It works perfectly for both. Many home baristas start using a naked portafilter to diagnose and improve technique, then keep it as their everyday driver because they prefer the richer crema and cleaner taste. The ergonomic wood handle and solid build quality make it just as practical for your morning routine as it is for dialing in a new bag of beans.
After each session, remove the filter basket and rinse both pieces with hot water. A quick backflush or soak with espresso machine cleaner once a week keeps oils from building up. For the wood handle, simply wipe it down with a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid submerging it in water. This simple routine preserves both performance and the natural beauty of the wood grain.
